The Before and After School Childcare Coordinator provides program leadership, supervision, and support to the Extended Childcare program under the direction of the Director.
Duties and responsibilities include but may not be limited to regular oversight of elementary-age students, transportation, homework help, and intentional programming. The position will require periodic flexing of the schedule to facilitate regular access to monitoring of all before-and-after school extended day programs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and maintains program standards and procedures for before-and-after childcare.
- Keeps appropriate records and coordinates the timely development and submission of necessary and required reports.
- Coordinates program enrichment activities.
- Organizes program curriculum materials for effective use.
- Assures that programs maintain safe, healthy, and clean learning environments for children.
- Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with staff, students, and the community.
- Effectively communicates, orally and in writing, necessary information and ideas to staff, students, and parents.
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities consistent with job description and assignment.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education and experience):
- Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university (or currently enrolled)
- Two (2) years of work experience in a field related to public education, childcare recreation, or youth enrichment programs.
- Experience in leading licensed childcare programs is required.
- Demonstrated aptitude and/or competence for assigned duties/responsibilities.
- Valid WA State driver’s license and appropriate insurance required.
- Valid First Aid/CPR/AED and health certificate required.
- State Background Check
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to work independently with a minimum amount of supervision
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills (oral & written)
- Knowledge of licensed childcare techniques and age-appropriate activities for school children
- Ability to establish, maintain, and ensure a safe school environment
- Demonstrated ability to analyze problems, and engage in collaborative process to resolve problems
- Ability to work effectively with staff, students, families, and community.
- Ability to demonstrate resourcefulness and judgment in making decisions by establishing policies and procedures.

- POSITION SCHEDULE
Oversee childcare program that is active from:
6:00 – 9:00 am (M-F)
3:00 – 6:15 pm (M-F)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.63 – $22.43 per hour
